  • What is Sauna in the Lanes?
    Sauna in the Lanes is a Nordic-style sauna and cold plunge experience in the heart of Brighton’s Lanes. We offer a natural and affordable way to relax, de-stress and boost your wellbeing, all year round.
  • What is the cold plunge?
    The cold plunge is an invigorating outdoor dip following the sauna. It helps boost circulation, reduce inflammation and give you that healthy post-sauna glow. There’s also an outdoor cold shower if you prefer.
  • Where is the Sauna in the Lanes located?
    You’ll find us just off Middle Street in Brighton’s historic Lanes. We’re tucked away in a peaceful courtyard, just a short walk from the beach and central Brighton.
  • How much does Sauna in the Lanes cost?
    The cost for a 45 minute sauna including cold plunge experience is £11. If you would like to stay longer simply book 2 back-to-back 45 minute sessions (i.e. £22).
  • How long is a typical sauna session?
    Sessions last approximately 45 minutes, giving you time to warm up, cool off, and repeat the cycle as suits your body.
  • Is there an age restriction?
    Children under the age of 18 are not allowed in the sauna; this is in line with our insurance, as well as health and safety guidelines.
  • Do you offer private hire for groups, team building, stag or hen dos?
    Yes, we offer private sauna hire for small groups, wellness events, team building, and special occasions like stag and hen dos. Having a sauna is a unique way to celebrate, connect, and unwind together. Please remember that we operate a strict no alcohol policy. Please contact us to enquire about private hire.
  • Do I need to book in advance?
    We recommend booking in advance to guarantee your session, especially during evenings and weekends. Walk-ins are welcome when space allows.
  • Is there parking nearby?
    There is no on-site parking, but we’re just minutes from city centre car parks, bus routes, and Brighton train station. There is limited street parking in Middle Street and the immediate neighbourhood. The closest car park is the Churchill Square Shopping Centre, also NCP in Russell Street, as well as The Lanes Car Park on Black Lion Street.
  • Will I be sharing the sauna with others?
    Yes, most of our sessions are open to all. The cabin holds up to 10 people. If you ‘re looking to hire the sauna privately, please inquire at reception or contact us through the website.
  • Is the sauna mixed gender?
    Yes. Our sauna sessions are mixed gender unless otherwise stated for special events. Please be respectful of others and follow sauna etiquette.
  • What should I bring to my sauna session?
    You’ll need: Swimwear (required) Two towels: one to sit on, one to dry off (you can rent a towel at £2 each if you’ve forgotten yours) Flip flops or sandals A reusable water bottle
  • Is swimwear mandatory?
    Yes, swimwear is mandatory inside the sauna. For hygiene and comfort, we do not allow daywear or underwear to be worn in the sauna.
  • Is there an indoors changing room?
    Yes, we have a gender-neutral changing room located on the first floor above the sauna. There are open cubbies for your belongings and secure lockers that require a £1 coin (refundable).
  • What is sauna etiquette?
    There is no nudity in the sauna, swimwear is required. We ask that everyone sit on a towel to help maintain the benches as well as a high level of hygiene.
  • What is the food and drink policy? Do you allow alcohol?
    We have a strict no alcohol policy at the centre. We also reserve the right to deny entry to anyone deemed to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol. You can bring your own snacks, but we have a script rule about no food inside the sauna.
